'triptych' house rendering
the 'triptych' house was designed by chinese architect yungho chang. arranged into
three glazed towers; gold, silver and silk the house offers panoramic views from every
room in the dwelling. consisting of three levels the house has a singular space on each
floor. the towers on the upper levels are connected not with corridors but with a series
of bathing facilities.
the structure of the house is a steel frame. the main columns are subdivided in such
a way that translucent folding sliding screens for sun shading can be stored within them.
the finishes of the screens give the three towers their color.
the inward pitched room form further opens up the house to views and allows cross
ventilation. the 'triptych' house was designed as part of the next-gene 20 project.
